Who we are, who this is for

The service is published by METIS Digital, SAS (see the legal notice). It is designed for businesses and professionals acting within their trade. By subscribing, you confirm you are acting in that capacity.

What the service does

Greenwashing Checker reads web pages you designate and reports wording that falls under Directive (EU) 2024/825, which amends Directive 2005/29/EC and applies from 27 September 2026. It is an automated reading. It is not legal advice, and it does not certify that a page complies.

What it cannot do

No automated tool detects every claim, and the assessment of whether a claim is substantiated depends on evidence we do not hold. A scan that finds nothing is not a clearance: when too little readable text is found, we say so and issue no grade rather than a favourable one. Decisions about your own publications remain yours, and we cannot be held liable for regulatory action taken against you.

Plans and quotas

Each plan states its daily scan quota, its number of pages per scan and its features. Those limits are applied by the service itself. The free plan is limited to 3 scans per day and 1 page per scan, and may be modified or withdrawn at any time.

Subscription, renewal and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard, through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, which stays fully usable. We do not refund a period that has begun.

Right of withdrawal

The service is intended for professionals, who do not have a statutory right of withdrawal. If you subscribe as a consumer, you have 14 days to withdraw. By starting to use the service during that period, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed.

Prices

Prices are stated excluding VAT. VAT is calculated at checkout according to your country and your VAT number; intra-EU business customers with a valid VAT number are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. We may change our prices; a change applies to your subscription only from the renewal following 30 days' notice sent to your email address, and you may cancel before it takes effect.

Availability and support

We aim for continuous availability but do not commit to a service level on the Free, Pro and Business plans; maintenance and incidents may interrupt the service. Support is provided by email at [email protected]. A contractual service level can be agreed on an Enterprise plan.

Acceptable use

You agree not to scan sites you neither own nor are authorised to scan, not to run bulk automated scanning outside the API included in the Business and Enterprise plans, and not to work around the quotas. Your API key identifies you: keep it secret, and tell us if it leaks.

Your content, our content

The pages you submit remain yours. The reports we produce are yours to use freely inside your organisation and with your advisers. The term list, the engine and the wording of the recommendations remain ours.

Termination

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, after notice except where the breach is serious. You can close your account at any time by writing to us; we then delete your data under the conditions of the privacy policy.

Governing law

French law applies. For business customers, any dispute falls to the courts of Marseille, France. Consumers keep the right to bring proceedings before the courts designated by law and may use the European online dispute resolution platform.
